Pastor Chris Martinez

Pastor Chris Martínez met Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior by God's grace in 1986. Five years later, the Lord called him to serve on the mission field in Tijuana, Mexico, at an orphanage called "Colina de Luz" . It was there that he met and married his beautiful wife, Rosalba Martínez, who began to help him in his ministry as a translator. A few years later they moved to a very poor "colonia" (neighborhood) on the outskirts of Tijuana called Pedregales de Santa Julia, where they started their first church. In those years the colony had no running water, sewage, or paved roads; however, they enjoyed every minute of ministering to the people there. Without a doubt in their hearts, that moment was a heavenly call to their lives.

Chris and Rosalba have two lovely daughters; Rosemary, 24, and Christina, 22. Both grew up in Pedregales knowing the love of Christ for their lives and currently serve him with all their strength and minds.
Around 2001, the Lord called them to plant a church in downtown Tijuana, where Chris is currently the titular pastor. Later, the Lord gave Chris a vision to train men and send them to preach the gospel to different places. As a result of that work, God has allowed the planting of 7 churches. 3 of them are located in Tijuana, (CC Pedregales, downtown Tijuana and Ejido Francisco Villa); 1 in Guadalajara; 1 in Michoacán; 1 in San Felipe and 1 in Mexico City. A men's discipleship center has also been established in Ensenada called "Rancho Poeima" and a sister of Calvary Chapel Tijuana serving as a missionary in India.

Pastor Chris is always excited to see what God will do in the future and is confident that the best is yet to come!
